WINE NOTES
100% organically grown at over 2700 ft. above sea level in Mendoza, Argentina on the Caligiore Estate Vineyards. This wine single wine comes from an 80+ year old vineyard planted in 1930. Round and rich, this Malbec was completely UNFINED & UNFILTERED and fermented using native, wild yeasts. This wine underwent a light bleeding (10%) just after the grapes were destemmed then the balance was aged in 50% small French and 50% small American Oak barrels for 18 months.

Mendoza, Argentina is the home of South America’s most recognized “Malbec Terrior”. This wine captures the essence of the warm days and cool nights in the Central Mendoza sub region of Luján De Cuyo where Gustavo Caligiore is an organic winemaking pioneer. PHILOSOPHY - The goal of organic farming is sustainability of the environment. This requires a great deal of human effort, with respect of ancestral / traditional practices we follow at Caligiore that make us proud to deliver the true essence of the grapes!
