WINE NOTES

Returning to production in 2009, the 1010 vintage is another follow-up strong vintage for Caligiore. The 2007 & 2008 Syrah vintages from Caligiore were decimated during harsh hailstorms. 100% Organically grown at over 3000 ft. above sea level in Mendoza, Argentina on the Caligiore Vineyards. Located high within the Andes Mountains these old vines are located just at the entrance to the famous Valle De Uco. Round and rich, this Syrah has an extended maceration period to ensure firm, yet soft tannins emerge directly from the fruit. The balance of the wine was aged in tank while 20% received French Oak aging for eight months.

REGIONAL DETAILS

Mendoza, Argentina is the home of South America’s most recognized wine region capturing the essence of warm days and cool nights in the Central Mendoza region where Caligiore is committed to organic viticulture. The high elevation vineyards stress the vines to push for optimum ripeness.
