REGION NOTES: The 2010 was the break in a 15 year drought bringing good rains during winter and the first of a cycle of cooler summers to Victoria in relief to the lethal bush fires of the previous year. This Shiraz fruit was grown in a small vineyard near Mia Mia in the famous Heathcote region and produced by Silver Wings Wines in a diversion of style from the bolder McLaren Vale wines previously imported under the U.S. ‘Marquee’ label. Showing greater elegance and restraint it was matured in small French oak barrels for 18 months prior to bottling in new low carbon emission, light weight bottles, we seal with a technology leading screw cap to ensure the full flavour and character of the wine is preserved for the consumer, free of taint. It is a high quality, rich and elegant wine offering well balanced dark Cherry and Blackberry fruit flavours, oak & soil complexities with a balanced, long tannin finish.
