Vegan wine import

Vegan wine import by Marquee Selections

Marquee Selections imports the Argentinian Caligiore wines. We selected this winery because its winemaker really cares about the drinkers. Besides growing grape and producing wine with love, Caligiore vineyards is engaged into an organic production that also makes the wines vegan friendly.

Here are some details about vegan wine:
Before bottling the wine there is a process to clarify the wine in order to remove the excess of insoluble matter. This process involve fining, where winemakers add a fining agent that isn’t suitable for vegan since its component uses animal origin.

Caligiore wines are all certified organic by the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture). According to the USDA, Organic farms and processors:

    Preserve natural resources and biodiversity
    Support animal health and welfare
Provide access to the outdoors so that animals can exercise their natural behaviors
    Only use approved materials
Do not use genetically modified ingredients
    Receive annual onsite inspections
Separate organic food from non-organic food

“Regular wines use animal proteins like egg white or other gelatin as wine fining agents, clarification, etc.”, said winemaker Gustavo Caligiore, “We do not use any of this animal proteins for any of our wines. So all our wines are suitable for vegans”, he added. This is how Caligiore wines are also vegan wines.

Vegan wines should have a logo with a leaf or say “vegan friendly” on the bottle.

A vegan is someone who does not eat or use animal products. Vegan is a lifestyle inspired against animal suffering and premature death.
